 Road Safety

22nd September 2014

Today, Mrs Downes led an assembly on ‘Road Safety’.

 The children were:

  • taught to understand the Green Cross Code and know why it is so important
  • taught that there are different types of road crossings and how to use them safely
  • taught to know how to cross the road safely where no crossing is available.

Use the website below to access resources to further support your child with Road Safety:

Many people know St. Christopher is the patron saint of travellers. St. Christopher's prayer is also known as the Motorist's Prayer.

Dear Saint Christopher,
protect me today
in all my travels
along the road's way.
Give your warning sign
if danger is near
so that I may stop
while the path is clear.
Be at my window
and direct me through
when the vision blurs
From out of the blue.
Carry me safely
to my destined place,
like you carried Christ
in your close embrace.
Amen.

Psalm 91:11 ESV

For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways
