PE and Sport Premium
At St Peter's Catholic Primary School, we believe that physical education, sport and healthy lifestyles play a vital role in children's physical, mental and social well-being. We are committed to helping every child develop a lifelong love of being active and to reach their full potential.
Physical activity is an important part of school life at St Peter's. Opportunities to be active take place before school, during lessons, at breaktimes and lunchtimes, and through a wide range of after-school clubs and sporting events.
The Government's PE and Sport Premium funding helps schools improve the quality of PE, sport and physical activity. This funding is used to create sustainable improvements that benefit both current and future pupils.
Our work focuses on five key areas:
- Encouraging all pupils to be physically active every day.
- Raising the profile of PE and sport across the school.
- Improving staff confidence, knowledge and skills in teaching PE.
- Providing a wider range of sports and physical activities.
- Increasing participation in competitive sport.
We also work collaboratively with local schools through a Cluster Sports Coordinator. This partnership enables us to:
- Improve the quality of PE teaching and learning.
- Increase participation in sport and physical activity for all pupils.
- Provide a broad range of extra-curricular and competitive sporting opportunities.
The documents below explain how our PE and Sport Premium funding is spent and the impact it has on pupils at St Peter's Catholic Primary School.
