Mastering Number (NCETM)

At Saint Peter’s, we are proud to implement the Mastering Number program by the NCETM for our Key Stage 1 children. The programme aims to secure firm foundations in the development of good number sense for all children from Reception through to Year 2.

Through engaging and interactive sessions, children will

• develop fluency in calculation, confidence and flexibility with numbers. 
• learn essential skills such as subitising, understanding number composition and decomposition, comparing quantities and recognising relationships between numbers. 
• build a strong mathematical foundation, setting them up for success in future learning and everyday life.
