Our Patron Saint: St Peter

St Peter is at the heart of our school family. Chosen by Jesus to be one of His closest friends, Peter wasn't perfect, but he was faithful, courageous and always willing to try again. His story reminds us that God sees the potential in every person and calls each of us to do great things.

Who was St Peter?

Peter was a fisherman who left everything to follow Jesus. He showed great faith, leadership and determination, becoming one of the most important figures in the early Church.

At St Peter's, we are proud to follow his example by being:

  • Courageous when things are difficult
  • Kind and welcoming to others
  • Ready to learn and grow
  • Faithful in following Jesus

Symbols of St Peter

You will often see St Peter shown with:

🔑 Keys - Jesus entrusted Peter with the keys to His Church, symbolising responsibility, trust and leadership.

🎣 A Fishing Net - Peter was a fisherman before becoming a disciple. Jesus called him to become a "fisher of people", sharing God's love with others.

📜 A Scroll - Representing Peter's preaching and his mission to spread the Good News.

⛵ A Boat - Reminding us of Peter's journey with Jesus and his willingness to step out in faith.

Following in St Peter's Footsteps

At St Peter's, we encourage everyone to follow our patron saint's example by using their gifts to help others, showing resilience when things are challenging and living out our faith each day.

We want our children to know that, just like Peter, they don't have to be perfect. They simply need to trust God, keep trying and be the best version of themselves.

Celebrating St Peter

Every year, we celebrate the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul on 29th June. This special day gives us the opportunity to remember our patron saint, celebrate our school community and give thanks for all the gifts and talents God has given us.

Our School, Our Saint, Our Journey

As a school family, we are proud to carry St Peter's name. His courage, faith and commitment to Jesus continue to inspire us as we learn together, grow together and live out our mission each day.
