Handwriting
At St Peter's we follow the 'Letter Join' scheme of learning for handwriting. Our children learn to write in pre cursive font in EYFS and move to join when they are taught the correct joining patterns in Years 2.
Each class follows a dedicated yearly plan for handwriting through discrete lessons weekly.
Based on the Strong Foundations document, pencil grip and seated position is paramount in our lessons to ensure children are comfortable and ready to write.
