Spelling
We follow the Spelling Shed scheme of learning to teach our spelling from Years 1-6.
Our EYFS children learn the key High Frequency word spelling through their phonics lessons matched alongside the Read, Write Inc red word list from their scheme of learning.
In Years 1 and 2, spelling is taught alongside Phonics to ensure children are receiving a breadth of spelling rules and knowledge to apply tricky rules and words to their writing.
Spellings are sent home half termly, as part of our class newsletters however, we visit spellings in class daily to ensure children are taught and given time to embed spellings.
