13. What support is available for me and my family?

If you have any questions about Special Educational Needs (SEN) or if you're finding things tough, please let us know. We're here to support you and your family.

Here's how we can help:

  • Talk to Your Teacher: Your teacher is always available to chat about how you're doing or any worries you have. They can also share tips that work well at home and school.
  • Meet with SENCo or Leaders: You can also meet with the SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) or senior leaders to discuss your progress or any concerns.
  • Outside Help: We'll talk to you about any information we get from outside professionals.
  • Regular Reviews: We'll review your support plan with you every term to make sure it's working well.
  • Homework Help: We'll adjust your homework to fit your needs.
  • Home/School Book: We might use a book to help us communicate with your family if it's helpful.
  • Parent Support Groups: We'll let your parents know about support groups they can join.
  • Meetings with Mrs. Nicholls: Mrs. Nicholls is available to discuss your progress or any worries.
  • Extra Help: Sometimes, we might involve other support agencies like Pathfinder, Barnardo's, or Think Family.
  • Early Help Assessment: Our Pathfinder worker might start an assessment to bring together all the support you need, including health and social care.
  • Parent Training: We hold training courses for parents, like for those with children with Autism.
  • Parent Counsellors: We have counsellors to support your parents' mental health.

Below is a list of other support available to parents, it is not exhaustive and if you do find any others please do let us know!
