Letter to parents regarding the new national education penalty notice framework

 

The academic year 2024-2025 bring changes to attendance. A letter has been put together, by Birmingham City Council, to inform all parents about the new national penalty notice framework which comes into effect on the 19th August 2024.

 

The letter, signed by Sue Harrison, Strategic Director of Children's and Families, is also accompanied by some FAQs which will hopefully help parents to understand the changes in law and what this means for our children in Birmingham.

Birmingham Education Penalty Notice Code of Conduct

In line with the new national education penalty notice framework, all local authorities in England have revised their code of conduct to ensure it conforms to the new legislation.
